Interwoven Exhibition Singapore

Interwoven; Stories of the Tenun Ikat Sumba, is a final-project exhibition created by Jennifer Wiriawan, BA (Hons) Level 3 student of LASALLE College of the Arts, School of Design Communication. Sekar Kawung and our fellow artisan, Kornelis Ndapakamang were later invited as a collaborator for this exhibition. The exhibition itself was held from 13-15 April 2018 at DECK, Singapore.

Jennifer's contemporary design combined with the traditional ikat woven was actually creating such unique atmosphere in which attracted many of the young designers, artists, and textile enthusiasts in Singapore.

The Interwoven exhibition has proven that a good design is highly important to introduce the traditional art and crafts to the world. Therefore, Sekar Kawung totally supports the young designers who are passionate enough to awaken the cultural heritage and the people.
